Update: Inmate who died at the St. Louis County Jail identified

Updated Information 8/16/2023:
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is releasing the identity of the male inmate who died while in custody at the St. Louis County Jail. The male is identified as:
Dustin Paul Eggert, 34 years old, from Duluth, MN
The cause of death is pending autopsy, toxicology results and the results of the BCA investigation.
____________________________________________________________________________________________An inmate at the St. Louis County jail was found deceased on Thursday morning, August 10th. The inmate was a 34-year-old male who was alone in his cell. Immediately upon locating him, St. Louis County Jail staff initiated lifesaving efforts and performed CPR. The Mayo Ambulance and Duluth Fire Department were contacted immediately and responded to the jail. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
There were no altercations, and no obvious cause of death was noted at the scene. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office requested the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, BCA, to investigate the cause of death. At this time, the cause of death is unknown. The cause of death is pending autopsy, toxicology results and the results of the BCA investigation.
