Minnesota Dept of Health issues a 'no-contact' water advisory for Downtown Grand Marais Beach

From the Minnesota Department of Health - August 9, 2023
A -Water Contact Not Recommended- advisory has been issued by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) on 08/09/2023 for Grand Marais Downtown Beach.
Elevated E. coli bacteria levels identified from samples collected 08/07/2023 indicate the possible presence of fecal contamination.
The beach is scheduled to be re-sampled 08/09/2023.
Illness After Water Contact: If anyone becomes ill after contact with beach water, contact the Minnesota Department of Health at 1-877-366-3455.
