Cook County School District 166 announces e-learning day for Tuesday, November 15; plus other closures due to winter storm

On Monday, November 14, Cook County School District 166 sent out an email and automated phone call to families alerting them that Tuesday, November 15 will be an e-learning day.
The email stated:
"Due to forecasted dangerous travel conditions on Tuesday, November 15th, Cook County Schools will not be running bus routes or serving meals at school. The district will implement an E-Learning Day.
Staff may teach and support student learning from home in accordance with the district E-Learning Day plan. Students should contact their teachers directly with questions. There will be no in-person after-school activities."

- The Zero Waste Cook County meeting originally scheduled for 11/14 is cancelled due to snow and other reasons
- Cook County YMCA: canceled group exercise classes, the Northerns Swim Team, and dance programs for the remainder of the day due to the difficult travel conditions. The YMCA gym, pool, and cardio/weight rooms remain open for use. Travel safely!
- Cook County, Minnesota: Due to cancellations and inclement weather, the Committee of the Whole Worksession on November 15 has been cancelled.
- Grand Marais Playhouse: Today's ( Monday Nov. 14) rehearsal is cancelled due to weather. Practice lines and songs. Rehearsals will begin going until 6 PM Tuesday, November 15. We have costume pieces to be fitted and need to learn costume and set changes. We will provide apples and carrots and clementines after school for a snack before we begin rehearsal at 3:45. promptly. Please go through your parts today at home. Let's not lose our momentum. Only eight rehearsals left!!
