More about our Student Technology interns:

In 2017 Boreal Community Media began looking at how we could help not only local youth, but also the entire Cook County community.  We realized that local tech support was not only hard to find, but also very expensive in Cook County.  For those who did not have the financial means for tech support, this put them at a clear disadvantage.

Boreal Community Media has hired several local Cook County youth to work as Technology Interns for Boreal Community Media.  They led a large-scale email migration process several years ago. The interns provide tech support to Boreal email customers.  We held (and continue to hold) regular community walk-in support clinics, where anyone can receive tech support free of charge.  This was especially critical during the height of the pandemic, where Zoom visits became the new norm for meetings, appointments, and visits with loved ones.  We have watched our interns flourish and move on to successful career paths that focus in different areas of technology.   

This November during Give to the Max month, we ask for financial support to continue this important non-profit community service.  And as a special opportunity this month, individual donations of $25.00 or greater will receive a gift of an exclusive limited edition of a Boreal coffee mug.
