Motorists should expect delays when traveling towards and along the North Shore August 4 – 7 due to large events and construction impacts. With the Festival of Sail in Two Harbors and the Grand Marais Fisherman’s Picnic, significant traffic congestion is anticipated.

Motorists should expect delays when traveling towards and along the North Shore August 4 – 7 due to large events and construction impacts. With the Festival of Sail in Two Harbors and the Grand Marais Fisherman’s Picnic, significant traffic congestion is anticipated.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead when traveling and have patience especially in work zones.
Several construction projects are ongoing in the area that will affect traffic including:
- I-35 single lane head-to-head traffic near Barnum
- Twin Ports Interchange project ramp closures
- Blatnik Bridge maintenance work
- Hwy 61 bridge work at Stewart River and Silver Creek
