Continued rainfall across much of the region is causing flooding in many areas of the Northland, including near Kabetogama. According to Hibbing Police, residents near Kabetogama are losing their homes daily.

Hibbing Police are looking for volunteers to help fight rising floodwaters. The plan is for volunteers to leave the Hibbing Police Department Thursday at 7:00 AM. They can expect to arrive back in Hibbing no later than 5:00 PM.  Food and refreshments will be provided.

Hibbing police are recommending that volunteers wear comfortable clothing and pack for the weather.  There will be a variety of different duties so anyone can help even if they have physical restrictions.

People interested in volunteering should contact Chief Estey at 218-262-0285 to sign up by Tuesday at 5:00 PM.
