Snow Angels - Help Break the World Record

From The Cook County News-Herald - December 23, 2020

Have you been practicing your snow angels? If you want to take part in a fun family activity, then step outside at noon on New Year’s Day and join an effort to break the world record for snow angels.

Nova Scotia residents set the current world record of 22,022 snow angels made simultaneously in 2011. They broke the 2007 record of 8,962 snow angels set by North Dakota residents.

On New Year’s Day at noon, go outside and make a snow angel. Send a buck or two to your local food shelf. If you don't have a buck or two, pick a time to volunteer and help a neighbor or non-profit group. Even sending someone a joke or positive message that brightens his or her day works. Let your snow angel inspire a good deed or a kind gesture.

This is a chance to do some good while we attempt to call Minnesota the snow angel capital of the world. The Cook County News-Herald is providing a website for you to register your snow angel and submit pictures so that we can track our progress towards the world record. Check out the website below, and don’t forget to practice!
