Act Now: Cook County last in state in Census Response

According to data today from the U.S. Census Bureau, with a county response state of just 27.9%, Cook County remains the last of 87 counties in the State of Minnesota in 2020 Census response rates.  Lake of the Woods County comes in second to last with a response rate of 30.6 percent.Meanwhile, Minnesota continues to lead the nation with a 71.6% response rate followed by Wisconsin with a 68% rate.

A  closer look at the numbers in Cook County shows the Grand Portage tribal area response rate exceeds the Cook County average at 30.6% while the response rate from the City of Grand Marais is 45.2%.
