Visitors coming into Grand Marais are sure to pass by a well-loved treasure in the Grand Marais Community - Putt n Pets Mini Golf, owned by Randy and Carolyn Sjogren.  This lovely little oasis offers fun for all age levels and is sure to bring smiles to any families who stop by.

Upon entering the parking lot and getting out of your car, one will have to decide which direction to take.  Kiddie rides, gemstone mining, and the crow of the roosters will all beckon you to come a bit closer.  Just when you think you have made up your mind, the bleating sound of some adorable trained little goats crossing their bridge just might call you over to their area instead.

Owner, Randy Sjorgen, is a retired electrical lineman who worked for Dakota Electric Cooperative in Farmington, Minnesota for 43 years.  He and his wife moved here in 2013 after falling in love with the area while visiting their son and his family, who live in the area.  According to Randy,  he "wanted to mini-golf for about 25 years and then everything just fell into place once they moved here".   Randy's extended family of pets grow as his 16 grand kids find new ones to add to the business.

About 8,000 visitors from all around the world enjoy the grounds of Putt n Pets each summer.  Five part-time employees are hired each year to help greet the visitors when they stop in to play.  Randy takes care of the morning chores, such as blowing off the greens and preparing the grounds for the guests.  His evening chores include feeding the animals.

According to Randy, "This is a creative outlet for everything I love.  I love the animals, I love the people, all of the plants that are on the grounds, and the water features".  By labeling the plants, he also provides educational opportunities for the visitors.

If you have not yet had the opportunity to experience Putt n Pets, stop in for some good, clean, family fun!  To view the website for Putt n Pets, please follow this link:  http://www.puttnpets.com/
