Film Screening: The Dance Is Not Over
Presented by Patrick Scully
Join us for a screening of The Dance Is Not Over, a feature-length documentary by Minnesota filmmaker Mark Wojahn.
This film follows renowned Twin Cities artist Patrick Scully as he reflects on a 50-year career in dance, choreography, and performance. Filmed over six years, the documentary offers an intimate look at Scully’s creative process, from early influences in contact improvisation to founding Patrick's Cabaret and shaping Minnesota’s contemporary arts scene.
Through rehearsal footage and interviews with fellow artists and cultural leaders—including Bao Phi and Marcie Rendon—the film highlights Scully’s lasting impact on dance, performance, and queer cultural history.
This program is ideal for those interested in dance, the performing arts, and regional cultural history.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
