Full Moon Reading with Ryan Vine, The Cave
"The poems... shimmer from the tension between tenderness and toughness" -Bart Sutter, Poet and Musician
Come down and listen to Duluth poet Ryan Vine share from his newest collection, The Cave. Reading will begin at 6:00, then afterwards we will reserve some time for questions, conversation, and book signing. With the remaining time we will open the campfire to our standard open-mic style reading for all to participate.
We meet at the fire circle on the beach behind Drury Lane Books in downtown Grand Marais. Due to the beach rock, walking aids and wheelchairs may have difficulty.
Expect to be indoors if the weather is rainy, winds are high, or temps are below 15 degrees F. The only time we will cancel this event is if there are severe travel advisories, or an unexpected emergency occurs. Our indoor space is mobility aid accessible.
Ryan Vine is the author of Distant Engines, To Keep Him Hidden, WARD, and The Cave, named “one of the best poetry books of 2025” by the California Review of Books. He lives with his family in Duluth, MN where he is a professor of English at the College of St. Scholastica.
Ryan Vine is a fiscal year 2026 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature; and by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Thank you to Visit Cook County for providing funding through the GMATA Mini-Grant that supports our Full Moon Readings.
