The JOAN DRURY AWARD is named after an extraordinary community member and a Violence Prevention Center co-founder, Joan Drury, who dedicated her life to feminism, justice, advocacy, and equity for women, girls, and LGBTQ2IA+ individuals. Joan Drury was a a longtime volunteer at the Violence Prevention Center and was someone who truly lived the mission and vision of Violence Prevention Center throughout her entire life.

This award recognizes one individual & one local business/organization who works toward fostering gender equity through one or more of the following:

• Volunteerism
• Community Commitment
• Personal Awareness
• Promotes Education, Awareness, and Outreach
• Philanthropy

The award will be presented by the Violence Prevention Center at our May 19th Film Fundraiser Event.
