Visit the Chippewa City Church

A historic remnant of the once thriving community of Chippewa City

The St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, locally known as the Chippewa City Church, was built in the French-style of hand-hewn and dovetailed lumber  in 1895 by Ojibwe carpenter Frank Wischop. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
