Bookbinding Workshop

Learn hand bookbinding as you help bind library copies of a new collection of student writings and art about the pandemic.

Cook County students responded to the pandemic last spring with artwork and writing, and their reactions were compiled into a book called SQUEEZED, COVID the Constrictor. Every student involved will receive a copy of the book, and 6 copies will be handbound for the public and school libraries. Sharon Geisfeldt VanRuiswick will teach you how to do handbinding at an open (and free) workshop on Saturday, November 13th at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts. If you'd like to participate in this workshop (all day from 10 to 4 or as a drop-in), please contact Ann Marie Mershon to sign up. 218-387-2245 or [email protected]. This project is funded by grants from the Karen Smaby Estate and the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation.
