"Rise Up, Little Bluebirds" is a sweet tale of grief and community told through the eyes of a bluebird family searching for ways to keep the memory of their dear grandma bluebird alive. The book offers opportunity for parents, professionals, caregivers and educators to help children see grief through a lens of hope and to give a language to talk about empathy and difficult emotions. Kristy is a local Minnesota children’s book author and an early childhood educator. She has been featured in outlets such as Minnesota Parent, People Magazine, The Today Show and Martha Stewart. She lives in southern Minnesota with her four children and developed a passion for support through grief after losing her mother to cancer in early 2018.
