Bike Maintenance and Helmet Event
Safe Routes to School
Due to the uncertain nature of the pandemic and how it will affect the annual Bike Safety Rodeo, the Safe Routes to School Committee, Fireweed Bike Co-op, and the Grand Marais Dairy Queen are sponsoring smaller maintenance and helmet fitting events through April and early May.
Your child can bring their bike to the event to have the maintenance completed and do a helmet fit check. A small number of helmets will be available for kids who need one.
The outdoor event in Grand Portage will be held from 12p to 4p on Saturday, May 1st at the Grand Portage Community Center.
No preregistration is required. This is an outdoor-only event that requires face coverings and physical distancing. Please stay home if you are ill or have been exposed to COVID-19 or determined as a close contact. If you are unable to attend any of the scheduled events due to illness, contact Jay Arrowsmith DeCoux at 218-370-1625 to discuss alternative options.
Each child that attends a maintenance event will receive a Dairy Queen Blizzard certificate and a small thank you gift from the SRTS Committee.
For more information about Safe Routes to School or the maintenance events, contact SRTS Coordinator, Andrea Orest, at 218-877-8262 or [email protected].
