Ribbon cutting ceremony held at the new Grand Marais Transfer Station

A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house was held on Friday, June 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the new North Shore Waste transfer station in Grand Marais. The event was hosted by Cook County, North Shore Waste and the Cook County Chamber of Commerce.

Attendees were able to tour the facility and learn about the new and improved services that this facility will bring to the community.

County Administrator, Kristen Trebil-Halbersma spoke on how needed the new indoor transfer station is in order to keep the beautiful land and waters of Cook County protected. She was joined by Senator Grant Hauschild, Representative Roger Skraba, Dustin Hanson of North Shore Waste, and Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Tribal Chair Bobby Deschampe.
