Rocky Wall Productions announced that Minnesota rock legends THE JAYHAWKS will perform 
on August 23rd as part of its 2024 Silver Bay Music In The Park Concert Series. The fourth season of a series of eight free Friday night outdoor concerts from 7:30 pm to 9 pm will kick off Friday, July 19, 2024, with The Big Wu and conclude Friday, September 6, 2024, with Martin Zellar & the Hardaways, in downtown Silver Bay at City Center Park.

“We are thrilled to announce that this legendary Minnesota band has decided to visit Silver Bay this summer,” said Rocky Wall Productions President Nelson French, “The Jayhawks represent the best of Americana music, have earned their reputation as a true American treasure.”

The captivating harmonies and distinctive arrangements of The Jayhawks set them apart from the rest of the Minneapolis music scene that emerged in the 1980’s. Over the course of almost four decades, 11 albums, and countless live shows, this beloved band soared to heights few ever achieve while winning the hearts and minds of critics, fans, and peers in the process.

After releasing two Indie albums in the 80’s, The Jayhawks became a driving force behind the growing Americana movement in the early 1990’s. Combining the talents of singer-songwriters, Gary Louris and Mark Olson, The Jayhawks released their major label debut, Hollywood Town Hall, in 1992 on the Def American label. This was followed by Tomorrow the Green Grass (1995), which produced the alternative radio hit single “Blue.”

The addition of The Jayhawks to the calendar rounds out an extraordinary lineup of musical talent for the 2024 concert season. “We have a mix of artists representing the best of Americana Music, ranging from blues to bluegrass to singer-songwriter folk to alt-country and rock and roll,” said board member Lisa Berg. “Many of the bands, including The Jayhawks, have agreed to stay in Silver Bay to perform a ticketed Saturday night house concert in support our efforts to bring high quality, live music to Silver Bay and the North Shore.” Information on how to get tickets for the house concerts can be found at Benefit House Concerts | Rocky Wall Productions.
