The Superior National Forest, along with Dovetail Partners, will host a safe pile burning workshop for area home and landowners on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 10 a.m. t0 12 p.m. 

The workshop will be held at the Kawishiwi District Office’s front parking lot at 1393 Highway 169, Ely, MN 55731. 

It is free and open to the public.

The workshop will focus on how to increase wildfire resiliency around your home and property. USDA Forest Service fire personnel will instruct the group on basic wildfire behavior and how to remove and safely pile burn hazardous woody debris.

The class will be held outdoors, so dress appropriately for the weather including boots for walking.
