Have you started planning your vegetable garden for spring yet? The Cook County Master Gardeners are.

The Cook County Master Gardener Volunteers through U of MN Extension are once again hosting a community order opportunity for seed potatoes, onions, and leeks this year.

Onions will be ordered through Dixondale Farms and sold in 1/4, 1/2, or full bunches (one bunch is about 60-75 plants).

Seed potatoes are sold by the pound and ordered for the county on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Master Gardener Volunteers advise getting your order in right away if you're hoping to get seed potatoes.

This community order is not only a community project, but also a small fundraiser for the Master Gardener Volunteer program. Funds raised will support Master Gardener workshops and programs for the community.

Residents of Cook County can order seed potatoes and/or onion/leek starts onlinePayments can be made at time of order pickup in early May.

The deadline for orders is Friday, February 2nd.

Please call the Extension Office with any questions at 218-387-3015.
