Students spent plenty of time behind the lens in our great outdoors capturing images in both photography and videography as they learned the skills taught at the summer camp last week.  All photos: Boreal Community Media

Boreal Community Media, Cook County Higher Education, and North Point joined forces to bring another successful youth camp to local students.  The camp was taught by Jaye White.  The camp schedule's topics are listed below:

Day 1: Basics of Photography
Day 2: Basics of Portraits
Day 3: Still Photo Videos and Continuity
Day 4: Filming Final Project and Short Format Videos
Day 5: Post-Production and Screenings

Campers learned to create short-format films (commonly used for social media). They also scripted, filmed, starred in, and edited their own silent film. Each camper left with a basic understanding of photography and videography and how to edit using free programs that they can use on their own.

We were able to offer this camp at no charge to local students due to the generous grant funds from Operation Round Up from Arrowhead Coop in Lutsen.  We would also like to thank the Cook County Whole Foods Coop for donating snacks and drinks for the campers.
