A Northland man who suffered a traumatic brain injury is finding healing through writing. Steven Kenworthy of Duluth was involved in an industrial accident in 2004 that left him broken in body and spirit.

He spent the next 16 years in and out of hospitals, rehab, and therapy. While unable to work or be physically active, Kenworthy decided to start a new project.

He recorded his thoughts, dreams, and feelings in the form of a children’s book called Candy Cane Lane. The illustrated story follows a young boy where anything is possible in his dreams, which is a topic close to its author.

“I hope people will order their’s and read and be happy,” Kenworthy said. “Dreams do come true. If it can happen to me, it can happen to you. Keep on dreaming.”

You can find Candy Cane Lane on Amazon, Kindle, & Barnes and Noble’s websites. Kenworthy has plans to publish more books in the future. You can follow Kenworthy’s journey on his Facebook page.
