Grand Marais State Bank is excited to announce that Assistant Vice President Marja Erickson has been recognized by Finance & Commerce magazine as one of the Top Women in Finance for 2021.  Each year Finance & Commerce honors the Top Women in Finance in Minnesota.  Marja, along with 28 other women were selected for this year’s class.  The program strives to recognize women who are making an impact not only in their professions but also in their communities in Minnesota.  An outside panel of experts reviewed the nominations and helped to select the honorees.

Marja is being honored for the work she has done for both Grand Marais State Bank and the North Shore Community in general.

Marja is an extremely important part of the team at Grand Marais State Bank.  She has never hesitated to take on new responsibilities and excel and improve upon them.  Having grown up in Cook County, the fellow employees and customers at the Grand Marais State Bank are more than just a name on a sheet of paper or computer screen, they are her family and friends.  Marja has worked in just about every department at the bank and has gained extensive knowledge in all aspects of banking and customer service.  Her expert knowledge in the field of real estate lending in particular is a very important asset to the bank and to the people of Cook and Lake Counties.  She sees her job at the Bank as a way to give back to the community and we are fortunate to be able to call her one of our own.

Marja is receiving the award at an awards event on Nov. 18th in Minneapolis and will be profiled in the Top Women in Finance magazine later this year.  If you see Marja around, congratulate her on a job well done.
