Residents in Northern Minnesota may hear aircraft during the evening hours as night flying takes off this week at Duluth's Air National Guard Base.

Starting Monday through November 4, the 148th Fighter Wing is taking part in Close Air Support (CAS) training with the Special Operations Forces.  During their CAS training, Joint Terminal Air Controllers (JTACs) or Forward Air Controllers (FACs) plan to communicate with air assets as a way to protect friendly ground forces.  Jets are expected to be grounded by 10 p.m.
