Cook County Public Health announces over 200 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cook County and that weekly updates will resume on the Cook County COVID-19 hub site each week on Thursday.

As of September 3, there have been 202 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Cook County.

The Cook County Emergency Operations Center launched the COVID-19 information hub site at cookcountycovid19.org in 2020 as a dashboard of local and statewide COVID-19 statistics and resources. Given the increase in virus transmission, locally and interest in current data on COVID-19, weekly updates will again be published on the hub site each week. Weekly updates will include the number of new cases reported in in the last week, total cases since the start of the pandemic, number of deaths and vaccine data for Cook County.

The Cook County COVID-19 hub site continues to be a central location for information on and registration for vaccination events in Cook County. People who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 remain extremely vulnerable to the more contagious Delta variant of COVID-19.  Throughout the month of September, Pfizer will be offered weekly at Sawtooth Mountain Clinic.  This is an effort to ensure that everyone 12+ can access vaccine locally on a regular basis.

“We all have both the freedom to make our own choices about health, and the responsibility to understand how those choices impact the people around us,” Public Health Supervisor Grace Grinager said. “Getting vaccinated, wearing a mask, and following other routine public health advice protects both yourself and those around you, including children under 12 and others in our community who are not able to be vaccinated.”
