The Minnesota Incident Command System said a wildfire on the range is 60 acres in size as of Sunday morning and is 30% contained.

The Rahkola Road Fire was detected on Friday in the area of Highway 21 and Highway 135, west of Embarrass.

In a Sunday morning update, MNICS said the cause of the fire was determined to be a powerline.

MNICS, which is coordinating the response, said on Sunday morning that crews are continuing to work towards the interior of the fire and the containment line will be reinforced with tracked vehicles. Additionally, MNICS says crews will lay 2,300 feet of hose line on the south end of the fire for direct suppression along the perimeter.

A portion of Highway 135 was closed on Friday as firefighters battled the fire from the ground and air.

There are no road closures, or evacuation orders in place as of Sunday morning.

There have been no reports of any injuries, or any damage to structures.
