Police say that a 24-year-old Twin Cities area man suffered serious injuries while waterskiing on Long Lake in Cass County Friday morning.

Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch reports that deputies and responders arrived on scene at approximately 9:15am.

Upon arrival, they learned that the man from Chaska, Minnesota had lost control while waterskiing and fell into the water, where he struck his head and lost consciousness.

Friends and family got the victim out of the water and into the boat where CPR was initiated. The victim was brought back to shore where deputies further assisted with CPR, regaining a pulse.

Burch says the victim was then transported via helicopter to a Twin Cities hospital.

Multiple agencies helped with the effort, including Longville First Responders, Longville Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance and AirCare.
