From the Cook County Emergency Operations Center and Public Health - February 2, 2021

Officials from the Cook County Emergency Operations Center and Public Health announced today that county residents age 65 or older are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine beginning this week and next, at the Cook County Community Center, and issued the following updates on this week’s vaccine events:

  • Feb 3: registration for this event is full
  • Feb 4: vaccine event at Cook County Community Center for residents age 65 and older

As of 8am on February 3, there are 35 slots remaining for this Thursday’s vaccine event. To ensure that all doses are administered, the event is now open to residents age 65 and older. When registration for Thursday’s event is full, a 50-person waitlist will be opened and those on the waitlist will be contacted when an appointment is available. Staff from Public Health and the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic will open an additional clinic for residents age 65 and older next week. The number of available appointments is dependent on the number of vaccines distributed to Cook County by the state.

“While we certainly won’t be able to serve everyone 65+ with this week’s events, it is exciting to be able to expand the range of people eligible for vaccination,” said Co-Incident Commander and Public Health Supervisor Grace Grinager, “If you don’t get into this week’s clinic, please put your name on the waitlist or look to next week’s sign-up for additional opportunities.”

Vaccine events will be held at the Cook County Community Center.

Registration is required for these and all future vaccine events. Visit the Cook County COVID-19 hub site at www.cookcountycovid19.org for a link to complete the online registration. To register, individuals will need provide:
