From the North Shore Healthcare Foundation - October 21, 2020

The North Shore Health Care Foundation is helping residents answer some of the difficult questions that come with planning for the end of life and what happens after to make sure your values and not just valuables, are honored. The first two sessions in the Health Care Foundation’s new Designs for Life education series will feature a panel of local experts and will focus on “Your Life, Your Legacy: Getting What You Want, Giving What You Want, Planning from the Beginning to the End of Life”. Sessions are being offered free as a public service from the NSHCF and are being held online in partnership with Cook County Higher Education.

“To say we are experiencing unique times is an understatement. Living through the first several months of a global pandemic which is claiming the lives of people of all ages, forces us to ask some tough questions,” said Valerie Marasco Eliasen, Executive Director – North Shore Health Care Foundation. “Now more than ever, having a plan for what should happen if you die is vital. Creating a solid plan, early on as young parents, or later in life as retirement looms in front of you, ensures that your financial stability for yourself, your loved ones, and your legacy are preserved as you want them to be. A solid plan, can reduce personal and familial stress, and contribute to positive emotional health for all.”
