The Cook County Community Foundation (CCCF) announced today that is launching a month long on-line campaign to highlight how it’s grant recipients have put their dollars to work to enrich the quality of life in Cook County, Minnesota.  In a partnership with Boreal Community Media, the Cook County Community Foundation will feature short profiles of past grant recipients and their important work in the community on the website: boreal.org.

The Cook County Community Fund, created in 2003, is a regional affiliate of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation, which makes grants to nonprofits and to individuals for scholarships and also provides leadership on important initiatives in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

“For seventeen years, The Cook County Community Foundation has supported programs from local non-profit organizations that enrich the quality of life in Cook County by awarding grants in a wide variety of areas, including the fine arts and culture, education, the environment and conservation, public health and programs for challenged populations such as youth, the aging, people with disabilities and much more,” said Leah Ekstrom, Chair of the CCCF Advisory Board, “This on-line campaign – in partnership with Boreal Community Media – puts the emphasis where it should be – on the organizations that turn our grants into real world solutions that help people.

“Due to the pandemic, we have shifted our annual fund raising efforts to be on-line.  We think it is important for financial supporters to appreciate how their contributions have made a difference,” said Ekstrom.  “We encourage community members to read and share these stories of how their contributions are put to work and continue their support by making donations to the Cook County Community Foundation.”
