MN Lake Superior Beach Advisory Alert Update

>> Advisory Added - Bluebird Landing Beach
A -Water Contact Not Recommended- advisory has been issued by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) on 7/9/2020 for Bluebird Landing Beach.  Elevated E. coli bacteria levels identified from samples collected 7/8/2020 indicate the possible presence of fecal contamination.  The beach is scheduled to be re-sampled 7/9/2020.

Bluebird Landing Beach is located north of Duluth on Old North Shore Road (Scenic Highway 61).

>> Advisory Removed - Grand Marais Campground Beach
The -Water Contact Not Recommended- advisory placed at Grand Marais Campground Beach on 7/7/2020 has been removed.  Fecal indicator bacteria levels and averages have returned to acceptable levels.

Grand Marais Campground Beach is located in Grand Marais adjacent to the pavilion and Campground.

>> Advisory Removed - Temperance River State Park Beach
The Water Contact Not Recommended- advisory placed at Temperance River State Park Beach on 7/7/2020 has been removed.  Fecal indicator bacteria levels and averages have returned to acceptable levels.

Temperance River State Park Beach is located on the south-west side of the mouth of the Temperence River in the Temperence River State Park.

>> Illness After Water Contact
If anyone becomes ill after contact with beach water, contact the Minnesota Department of Health at 1-877-366-3455.
