From Boreal Community Media - June 1, 2020

Boreal Community Media wishes to send congratulations to their talented young interns who graduated form Cook County Schools on Saturday, May 30, 2020.

Greg Peroutka started his technology internship with Boreal last year.  He has helped many Boreal customers as well as countless community members at our free technology events.  We have heard so many positive comments about his technical abilities and helpful personality.  We are so lucky to have him on our staff!  Greg will be attending UMD this fall, majoring in Computer Science.

Ellen Callender began her journalism internship with Boreal Community Media several months ago and has already written some very popular articles sharing the student perspective of distance learning during the COVID-19 crisis.   Ellen will continue submitting articles over the summer months before she heads off to attend Gustavus Adolphus College to major in English this fall.

Both internships were made possible by generous grants through the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation.  We are so grateful for their support of our programs, as they give local Cook County youth paid, working experience in a field that they are pursing after graduation.

Congratulations Greg and Ellen!  We are so proud of you!
