From the Cook County Community Fund - February 26, 2020

Nonprofits serving Cook County and its residents are eligible for grants through the Cook County Community Fund. Interested organizations should submit an inquiry by March 18 at dsacommunityfoundation.com, the website of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation, where the fund is an affiliate.

Nonprofits whose inquiries are approved then can apply by April 1. Grants typically totaling $500 or more apiece are available in July to support the arts, community and
economic development, education, the environment and human services.

For more information, contact the foundation at 218-726-0232 or [email protected], or a member of the fund’s Advisory Board: Eric Block, Mike Carlson, Leah Ekstrom (chair), Don Grant, Tom Morse, Chris O’Brien, Virginia Detrick Palmer, Nancy Seaton, Claire Smith and Ritalee Walters. More information also is available at cookcountycommunityfund.com.

Since 2005, the fund has enhanced the quality of life for people in Cook County by attracting
charitable gifts, making philanthropic grants, providing financial stewardship and offering local
leadership. Recently, the fund has provided grants totaling about $20,000 annually. Since the fund’s start in 2003, grants have totaled more than $159,000.
