Videos: Touchstone Award winners announced at Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation Event

Emerging Leaders Board Training by the Head of the Lakes United Way and the Minnesota Prison Writing Workshop at Moose Lake Prison were the winners of Touchstone Awards honoring those non-profit organizations in the region that promote Civic Engagement and Inclusiveness at the 25th annual Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation ceremony at the DECC in Duluth on Monday.

Boreal Community Media's Emergency Preparedness Portal was one of six nominees for the awards at Monday's event at the DECC in Duluth.  Boreal's Executive Director Lisa Bauer and board members Jaye White and Eric Block attended the luncheon event.  

The other nominees were 23rd Veteran who helps veterans help adjust back to the civilian world, the Bong P-38 Historicial Center youth education program, the MN Council of Non-Profits efforts to strengthen the Northeast Minnesota Non-Profit workforce.

All of the nominated organization were profiled by event host Renee Passal, news anchor and reporter of WDIO-TV in Duluth, in news broadcasts over the past several weeks.  You can watch the WDIO-TV profile of the Boreal Emergency Preparedness Portal below.

Mr. Arend "Sandy" Sandulte received the annual Generosity Award for a lifetime of achievement in contributing to a long list of non-profit groups in the Northeast Minnesota region.
