Sarah Lakosky joined the staff at Cook County Schools this fall.  She is working in ADSIS Behavioral support. (Meaning, Alternative Delivery of Specialized Instructional Support).  According to Sarah, "I get to work with students K-12 who could benefit from extra support and services to succeed in general education".

Sarah lived in Ely for 20 years before coming to Cook County (my hometown of Grand Marais).  She worked with Ely area students and families in multiple capacities (home, school, after school programming and summer wilderness trips.)

Sarah's reflection on her favorite part of her move to Cook County?  "I’m so happy to walk to school with my kids, see the lake, wave at friendly/familiar faces, and make Cook County our home.  Cook County Schools was good to me as a kid, and my goal is to give back what I can. (sounds cheesy but it’s true:) If you are a teacher (from anywhere) reading this, THANK YOU".

What surprising fact about Sarah may surprise people?  Sarah said that she has been very lucky. She's been able to travel, roam and play.  She love talking about past adventures with those who plan to go, or have gone.  And now she is focused on her family and setting them up to be strong, thoughtful people.

Welcome, Sarah!
