Boreal Community Media welcomes its latest Student Technology Intern Greg Peroutka.   He will be assisting Boreal customers with their tech support needs, offer free tech troubleshooting when Boreal visits The Hub (formerly the Cook County Senior Center) and at Free Tech Events throughout the year.

Greg is a 12th grade student at Cook County Schools.  He moved here last year from Eden Prairie but was a summer visitor for 10 years.  He has been working at World's Best Doughnuts for the past 4 years.  His college plans are undecided yet, but he is a technical wizard, and was a tech intern at the school last year.

He will be starting at the Boreal office this week, sharing duties with Tristan Surbaugh.

The Boreal Community Media Student Technology Internship program was started in 2018.  It has been serving both Boreal customers with free tech support and the community at free technology help events

The internship program offers students hands on, real world technical support experience to help them get a head start for careers in information technology, computer science and other technology fields.

The internship program is brought to the community by generous grants from the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation and Arrowhead Electric Cooperative.  The program is done in conjunction with Cook County ISD 166.  Community members who receive free tech support are encouraged to make tax deductible donations to support our student interns.  Donation envelopes are available at the Boreal Community Media offices in the Cascade Building in Grand Marais.

Welcome to the Boreal team, Greg!
