Pull out your extra-warm clothes and get ready for fun in the snow during the Two Harbors Winter Frolic Feb. 7-10.
New to the Frolic this year is a "tug"-of-war event organized by the Friends of the Edna G, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of Two Harbors' historic tugboat.
The event will use a mooring line as the rope and take place outside the main event tent next to the Two Harbors Curling Club. Teams of five people can enter to win one of the cash prizes for the top three teams.
Also new this year is the Winter Frolic vendor fair at the Two Harbors Moose Lodge on Friday, Feb. 8, and Saturday, Feb. 9. There will be only one vendor of each kind at the market.
The American Legion will host a 50/50 spaghetti feed Thursday, Feb. 7. The feed will be a fundraiser for future Frolic festivals.
The annual chili cook-off is scheduled for Friday at the curling club. Kamloops Restaurant and Lounge will be defending its championship title.
Speaking of defending titles, the annual Two Harbors City versus Lake County curling challenge is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday. Lake County will attempt to defend its title as last year's winner.
Friday caps off with a frozen T-shirt contest at 10 p.m. Each participant will be given a frozen T-shirt; the first person to free their T-shirt and put it on correctly will win.
"Now, that should be a good time," Winter Frolic co-chairwoman Sara Cuypers said. "I'm exciting to see how it turns out."
