You know you're getting big when you're held in the same regard as Graceland, the late Elvis Presley's home in Memphis, Tennessee (but you already know that, of course).

Such is the case with Minnesota's very own Glensheen Mansion, which is ranked No. 2 in USA Today's "10 best holiday historic home tours" list – second only to the aforementioned Graceland. 

This is the result of a public vote, for which Glensheen made the final shortlist of 20 museum homes last month. 

The list honors attractions that "pull out all the stops for their holiday tours," as USA Today put it. 

Gleensheen was built on the shores of Lake Superior by Chester and Clara Congdon in 1908, and eventually donated to the University of Minnesota, which in turn made it into a museum open to the public.  

In its writeup for the home, USA Today praises the fact that "visitors can experience what Christmas was like for the Congdon family by touring the mansion illuminated by the light of Christmas trees."

It's something the 39-room mansion does every year, with hundreds of feet of garland and 25 Christmas trees going into the decor. 

But this year, there was an added touch; for the first time, Glensheen introduced an outdoor light display, which includes illuminated snowmen and a laser projection on its exterior.
