Story by Lisa Bauer of Boreal Community Media - November 3, 2018

On Thursday, November 1st, Chelsea Pusc of Gunflint Mercantile became the owner of another beloved business in Grand Marais, Elfvin's Bakery.  The new name for her business venture is Gunflint Baking Company.  She will still have have her current storefront location in downtown Grand Marais, and will continue to run the bakery portion out of the current location at the Betsy Bowen Studio.

Chelsea has owned Gunflint Mercantile for eight years.  She began exploring the idea of expanding her business a year ago and began talking with the Rain Elfvin a couple of months ago.  Chelsea will continue providing baked goods to Cook County Whole Foods Coop and to several local restaurants.  The traditional recipes will not change.  Some new items that she will be offering at her downtown location will be cookies and a focus on breads.  In the near future, she hopes to provide specialty cakes for order.  For those who would like to try her delicious treats in the near future, she will be taking orders for Thanksgiving pies.  Chelsea also is excited about offering homemade dog treats for four-legged friends

To learn more about her creations, visit her Gunflint Baking Company Facebook page, where she will be providing most of her updates.  https://www.facebook.com/gunflintbaking/

Orders can also be placed by stopping in at her downtown storefront location or by emailing Chelsea at [email protected].  Her downtown shop is open year round.

Congratulations on your new adventure, Chelsea!
