County braces for loss of significant department heads

Two key department heads in the Cook County offices resigned in the month of July. Earlier this month Highway Engineer Dave Betts resigned to take another job outside of Cook County. And on July 25, the county board officially accepted the resignation of Josh Beck, the director of the county’s public health and human services department.
WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs spoke with Commissioner Heidi Doo-Kirk about the loss of these key figures in Cook County, as well as the impacts their vacancies could have on the 2018 budget planning process.
