***Saturday evening update: Saturday PM winter storm update: Blizzard and Gale Warnings for North Shore, Winter Storm Warning for rest of Cook County until Tuesday evening***


A Blizzard Warning has been issued for Cook County:

AREAS AFFECTED : SOUTHERN LAKE/NORTH SHORE; SOUTHERN COOK/NORTH SHORE

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations 
of 14 to 19 inches and ice accumulations of around two tenths 
of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph. 
 
* WHERE...Southern Lake and Southern Cook Counties. This 
includes the Tribal Lands of the Grand Portage Reservation. 
 
* WHEN...From 1 PM Sunday to 7 PM CDT Tuesday. 
 
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas 
of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The 
hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening 
commute. Strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees 
and power lines. 
 
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Blizzard conditions are most likely from
