Empty Bowls grant applications now open; deadline February 23

The application for grants using 2023 Empty Bowl Funds is now open through February 23, 2024.  Eligible organizations include: non-profits, schools, and any other organizations or groups serving Cook County’s hunger needs.

Empty Bowls, a non-profit in Cook County, aims to fight food insecurity by giving money to organizations that help meet hunger needs in the community. According to an December 2023 Empty Bowls Facebook post, "In 2022, $87,000 in grants was dispersed to 27 local non-profits like the Grand Portage Elderly Nutrition Program, Senior Dining at the Hub and the Senior Lunch at Birch Grove."

In November of 2023, Empty Bowls hosted one of their biggest fundraisers to date.
