The idea of a teardrop rental and delivery service came on an observation of tourism traffic in Cook County. With numerous places to camp, we believe there is potential to provide a niche-type camping experience for battle hardened or beginner campers. Teardrop camping is the bridge between tent camping and RVing. 

We went online June 2023. Bookings have been moderate, we kind of expected that, it takes a little bit of time to build a clientele base and just getting the word out.

For someone not comfortable or experienced in camping, what advice or words of encouragement would you have for them?

For the newcomers or the inexperienced camper, our set up is just the ticket you’re looking for. Our trailers come completely set up, ready to go! We take the hassle out of camping. No tents to set up, no cookware or sleeping bags to remember, it's provided. We deliver the trailer to you so your tow vehicle isn’t a concern.

Do you have people renting your campers during this mild winter or do you rent only certain times of the year?

No rentals during the winter months, however, we have had some inquiries about such a thing, so it could be a possibility in the future.

Do you have a favorite spot in Cook County that you personally enjoy camping?

There are plenty of great spots within Cook County to camp. A few of our favorites are the Cascade river campground, Judge Magney campground and the Municipal campground right in Grand Marais.

How do you enjoy a day off when you are not busy working?

When I’m not out teardrop camping, I also enjoy being on the road traveling via motorcycle.

Starting up a business can sometimes take a leap of faith.  Did you have others encouraging you and offering support along the way?  

Cook County Teardrop, is a teardrop trailer delivery service. Our clientele are the people who are traditionally tent campers but desire a more comfortable camping experience. I had this idea of a teardrop delivery service for a while now and I came across another outfit that was doing the very same thing. Seeing it in person was the catalyst for me to take action and make this thing happen.
