Before you read this, remember the old phrase "Don't attack the messenger": Snow lovers won't be rejoicing over the latest extended forecast from the National Weather Service. An active, strong El-Nino pattern has resulted in very little snowfall for much of the North Shore, while inland areas have received minimal amounts.
According to the 8-14 day temperature outlook, there is a 70-80% chance for above-average temperatures throughout the entire state of Minnesota.

According to the 8-14 day temperature outlook, there is a 70-80% chance for above-average temperatures throughout the entire state of Minnesota.
The potential precipitation outlook doesn't come out quite as confident as the temperature prediction, however, it does appear possible that Minnesota will receive a below-average amount of rain or snow.
