Activities held in the month of October - Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center:

Saturday, October 7 – Layne Kennedy; Storytelling with photographs – 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Held at the Seagull Community Center (7 Seagull Lake Access Road).

Layne will discuss and show photographs discussing the influences of photography and the process of creating photographs to tell a simple story.

Saturday, October 14 – Northwoods Class - Geology of the Upper Gunflint Trail with John Craddock.

Class from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Chik-Wauk Nature Center, $45/person.

Limited to 15 participants – you can register for the class by emailing [email protected] or call 218-388-9915.

Saturday, October 14 - Storytelling from the back roads of Cook County - 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Held at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts.

Storytelling from the back roads is the collaborative work of the Historical Alliance of Cook County that includes;

Cook County Historical Society - The Gunflint Trail Historical Society - Schroeder Area Historical Society - Tofte Historical Society

All presentations are free and open to the public.

Admission charge $6/adult, $3/children 5 – 18 under 5 are free. Discounts for Senior Citizens and the Military. Free admission for anyone with a Gunflint Trail Historical Society membership.

Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center is located off the Gunflint Trail (Hwy12) turn right onto Moose Pond Drive (Cty Rd 81).
