Minnesota Department of Health removes "no contact advisory" for downtown Grand Marais Beach

On Friday, August 11, the Minnesota Department of Health announced that the 'no contact' advisory for the beach in downtown Grand Marais has been removed. 

According to the organization, Fecal indicator bacteria levels and averages have returned to acceptable levels."

The initial advisory was issued on August 9 after routine water sampling indicated elevated levels of E. coli. 

If you or someone you know had contact with the water during the time the advisory was in place and has become ill, you are urged to contact MDH at 1-877-366-3455.
