Court records show a Minneapolis man who is charged in his alleged connection to a deadly shooting outside of a Richfield school earlier this year is expected to have his trial begin Monday.

Alfredo Solis, 20, is charged with one count of intentional second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

Solis is one of two men who were arrested following a shooting outside the South Education Center in February, which killed 15-year-old Jahmari Rice and injured two other students.

Solis and the other suspect, Fernando Valdez-Alvarez, then drove away from the scene. They were both later arrested in Minneapolis. As previously reported, Valdez-Alvarez’s trial is scheduled to begin next month.

Monday’s court proceedings are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
