The Twin Ports hasn't seen a cruise ship in nearly a decade, since 2013. But 2022 is the year of their return, with the arrival of the Viking Octantis.

This is the inaugural tour of the Great Lakes, hitting all five bodies of water and lasting 15 days. The trip takes passengers from Toronto, Ontario to Duluth, and the 665-foot Octantis can carry about 387 guests. She has five decks, with restaurants, a fitness center, spa, hair salon, and so much more.

Once the ship is in the harbor, passengers will be brought by a smaller boat from the cruiser vessel to shore. Guests have several excursion options to choose from, or some free time to roam around Canal Park.

The City of Duluth has been building a new customs terminal, set to be completed in 2023. At that point, Duluth will become an embarking city, meaning cruises will leave from here.
