Winter Greetings, Families!
It has been an odd week with several classrooms moving to distance learning. Despite some hiccups and adjustments there have been positive aspects, as well. One classroom teacher reports the ability to have more one to one quality teaching time with each of her students than the in-person day will allow. We will count our blessings where ever we can!
If your child's class has been out this week, please test your student before they return to school next week. There are rapid Covid tests available in the entry, if needed, and they can also be picked up at Sawtooth Mountain Clinic. Please email school ([email protected]) if you have an older phone that will not allow an app download to read the test results and we will help you get an alternative test. Also, watch for symptoms that can include a headache, body aches, runny nose or fever. Omicron symptoms can be very mild for some people and more serious for others. In an effort to care for those who may become more ill, please keep your child home, if they are sick at all. The rapid tests are great at detecting Covid-19 in symptomatic cases. But, they do require a heavier viral load to pick it up. If your child has symptoms and they test negative, please test them again in 24-36 hours.
Thank you, dear families, for your support as we work through the changes that the pandemic brings our way. We know that quarantines and distance learning can be very difficult for families to manage. Please take the time for some much needed self care.
More information will be coming regarding GES' updated Covid Safe Learning Plan as it is finalized. There are many aspects to consider and we want to get it as right as we can. |
