Millions of Americans will be taking to the roads this holiday season.

According to AAA, more than 109 million people will travel 50 miles or more between Dec. 23 and Jan. 2 — an almost 34% increase from 2020.

If you plan on driving, AAA along with traffic analytics company INRIX, predicted the busiest travel times on the roads.

According to their data, for Thursday, Dec. 23, traffic will be the heaviest from noon to 6 p.m. so the best time to hit the road is after 7 p.m.

The worst time to travel on Christmas Eve., Friday, Dec. 24, is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. whereas the best time to travel is anytime before 1 p.m.

INRIX also predicts minimal congestion on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
